Team Maathiyosi - Accomplishments

Team Maathiyosi helps CHILD – NGO

"CHILD" is a registered NGO which is in Annai Nagar, Korratur, Chennai.

CHILD is an NGO started and run by Mr.Senthil for children who turned orphans because of their parents infected with HIV. The children at CHILD are tested and approved to be HIV negative. Senthil is working in KMC in HIV blood testing unit. He is earning a salary of amount Rs.7000/month. Right now there are 9 children at home and the total expense for the home amounts to 17,000/month. The fund income for this home is very less. As a result the infrastructure is too poor and Senthil also finds it hard to manage the expenses for the home.

The CHILD home’s infrastructure is very bad and it becomes much worser during rainy season.

Team Maathiyosi on inspecting the home and after having spoke to the children and the owner Senthil decided to help the inmates.

Christmas Day Celebration @ Baby Home:

Team Maathiyosi celebrated Christmas day at the Baby Home,St.Thomos Mount. Contributions like donations in the form of cheques/cash, old dresses, gifts, etc.., were collected and were given to the Baby Home. Most of the contributions came from the employees of the company in which the Maathiyosi team members were working.

Team Maathiyosi felt elated and delighted on the response from the public and extended its heartfelt thanks for all the contributors.

Contributions for the World Disability Day:

Team Maathiyosi contributed for the World Disability Day by selling World Disability Day bands. Each band costing Rs.10/-, the team sold nearly 150 bands and generated Rs.1500/-. The collected amount will be contributed to the homes for physically/mentally challenged people and orphanages.

Contributions for MAITHREE – Home for the mentally challenged people:

Maithree is an organization formed by the parents, to take care of the needs of the special children with a vision to integrate the persons with mentally handicapped in order to bring dignity in their lives. Uniqueness of Maithree is that it develops parents as professionals and administrators in this field, advisors and counselors for the needy, service providers and also beneficiaries.

Maithree (www.maithree.org), an institution dedicated in providing secure future for mentally challenged persons, has organized a music concert in order to raise funds for their institution.

The famous music orchestra troupe, “Lakshman Shruthi” performed on behalf of Maithree at Madras University Centenary Auditorium (Anna Square), Chepauk, and Chennai-5 on 23/11/2008.

Maathiyosi team served Maithree in the form of selling the tickets for the musical concert and thereby raised funds for Maithree. Each ticket costed Rs. 200/-. The Maathiyosi team also participated in the function.

Financial Help for a Blind Girl to pursue her studies (B.Ed.):

Maathiyosi team through its network of friends and people has contributed Rs. 3000/- for the Blind Girl Sangeetha for her educational costs. Maathiyosi earnestly thanks the contributors.

Financial Help for a Poor Boy to pursue his studies:

Maathiyosi team joined hands along with its friends and generated a sum of Rs. 35,000/- for the poor boy Elango to meet his educational expenditures. This was done in association with the members of a NGO named “Thozhamai”. Devaneyan from a NGO named Thozhamai collected the money on behalf of the poor boy. Thanks to the contributors.

Blood Donation Camp:

Team Maathiyosi and Indian Red Cross together organized a Blood Donation Camp on October 17, 2008. More than 60 donors participated in the drive and donated blood. Thanks to all the donors from Maathiyosi. Blood donation certificates were issued from the Indian Red Cross.

Helping Hands for T.V.Nagar Educational Society School:

T.V. Nagar Educational Society School is an Non- Profit Organization which is adopted by rotary club of ambattur,India,R.I District 3230. This school is managed by T.V.Nagar Educational Society, Regn.No.237/1976 located in Thiruvengada Nagar, Ambattur, Chennai-600 053. Maathiyosi’s contribution to the school includes giving funding for the infrastructure, giving awards for 10th Std toppers each year, giving computer education and giving educational tips/tuition/motivating the students of the school.

Blood Donation Camp and Eye Donation Awareness Camp Along with Government Officials:

Team Maathiyosi conducted Blood Donation Camp and Eye Donation Awareness Camp on October 15th 2008 from Government Officials. Blood Donation Camp conducted by KMC Government Hospital and Eye Donation Awareness Camp conducted by Government Eye Hospital. 61 units of blood and 65 forms for eye donation awareness were collected. Team Maathiyosi would like to earnestly thank the donors as well as the Government Officials for all the support and co-operation.

Team Maathiyosi contributes towards a poor guy for his Engineering education:

The Poor Guy who name is vijaya kumar lives in Sholingar which is in Vellore district. He secured 1046/1200 (Physics-184, Chemistry-190, Maths - 197). He is very much interested in studying Engineering. He attended the Anna University counseling and he got a B.E. seat in Anna University, Trichi. But he is from very poor family. His Father is daily wage employee. Team Maathiyosi collected a sum of Rs. 10,000/- for the poor guy to meet his educational expenses.

Blood Donation Drive in Chennai:

Young Professionals Network wing of Merrill Lynch India Technology Services organized a Blood donation drive in association with Apollo Hospitals and Madras Anchorage Ladies Circle 92. Maathiyosi team members working in Meriil Lynch was helping in organizing and regulating this drive. The drive was a huge success and there were more than 100 donors.

Success Story of Multi Organ Donation Camp @ HCL Technologies:

The Community Service Council of HCL Technologies, Chennai in association with MOHAN Foundations organized an Organ Donation Camp in their Ambattur-6 facility campus on 27th, March ’08. This being a first ever corporate initiative on Organ Donation in India, many employees including the managers and GMs were present. The inaugural function which took place in a very informal ambiance, in the café of the company attracted many software geeks to give a thought about the myths and facts about organ donation.

Dr. Sunil Shroff, and Dr. Sumana from MOHAN Foundation gave a short and sharp presentation as how brain death occurs, how to donate the organ and what are the possible organs that can be donated. Dr.Shroff who addressed the gathering told that they are working for the promotion of donation and awareness of cadaver donation.

Mr. Ravi Kishore, a Deputy General Manager who heads the Community Service Council, HCL told that this in a kick off function and this camp will be organized nation wide in all the HCL offices in Chennai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Noida and Hyderabad with the help of MOHAN Foundation.

The employees raised so many doubts on organ donation. MOHAN foundation also issued donor cards to the interested people and delivered brochures explaining organ donation.

The Community Service Council (CSC) team from HCL Ambattur-6 was happy that the event was a big success in its aim of creating the awareness to the employees.

The event also gained media attention and there was an exclusive coverage from NDTV.

J. Augustin Milton Vinoth, an employee of HCL and from the Maathiyosi’s team along with the members of HCL CSC was instrumental in making this camp a big success. He and the CSC team are responsible for arranging, organizing and making this camp a huge success!

Blood Donation Camp:

In association with Jeevan Blood Bank, a blood donation camp was organized. Team Maathiyosi was instrumental in making the blood donation camp a huge success by organizing, guiding and participating in the camp. The total donors were around 85.

Fund collection for building school in Chekkadikuppam Village:

Chekkadikuppam is a village located in the south of TamilNadu. Maathiyosi team has helped the unit of ‘Ulagath Tamizh Peravai’ by raising funds for the construction of schools in the village. Team Maathiyosi has collected amount close to Rs. 14500/- for the Chekkadikuppam Village.
